How to build deep, daring faith (വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ ആഴപ്പെടുവാൻ)
Faith can move mountains, remove fears/worries, and heal your body and mind. It is the key to experience God’s blessings and miracles. A few tips to enhance your faith:
- Make God your number priority; trust God and his promises. (1 min video: Make God your # 1 priority)
- In fearful situations: pray, trust God and take the first step (take risk or have the courage to take the first step)
- Practice faith progressively, the way you build your muscle strength
- Nurture mind with faith-building affirmations and Words of God (verses on Faith)
- Pray, visualize the outcome as happened and give thanks in advance.
- Use ‘I command in the name of Jesus <intention or prayer>…’ or ‘I request in the name of Jesus ..’
- As a child insisting on his/her parents (നിർബന്ധബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുക)
- When you pray, pray with emotional intensity. Feel the physical presence of Jesus/Mary/Holy Spirit nearby, feel intense connection, visualize what you pray is happening or already happened, thank in advance. (How to pray)
- Don’t consider a delay in answer to your prayers as ‘God not loving you enough’ or ‘My faith is not good enough’, because real faith is about surrendering to the will of God and accepting his timing.
- Maintain a journal of prayers and its outcome (instances when faith was tested and the fruitful outcome)
- Make use of the sacraments often, for enhancing relationship with God and for receiving God’s grace.
- Aspire for a life driven by the Holy Spirit; make it your top priority.
- Pray for spiritual gifts and use it for God’s glory.
- Sometimes just one intense experience with God is good enough to transform your life and to build daring faith. Sometimes faith grows in stages, just like a relationship that grows in stages.
- Your relationship with God grows through various stages:
- You pray for your needs, God answers your prayers, you start depending on God (basic level)
- Sometimes you insist on getting what you want, like a child asking parents with entitlement mentality. God sanctions it!
- Some prayers are delayed or not answered; yet you are happy with the outcome. You trust God’s timing.
- You have absolutely no doubt about God’s love for you. You know God’s plans are better than yours. You surrender to the will of God. You are more concerned about God’s will happening & God’s glory. You realize even the smallest needs of yours are taken care of even without asking.
- You are now more concerned about what God is concerned about – saving souls and Kingdom of God on earth.
- You give complete control on you to God’s spirit – your thoughts, emotions, deeds are influenced by God or His words. You often feel oneness with God.
