Antidote for feeling unworthy

Feel worthy and magnificent instantly; raise your self-esteem.

Feeling unworthy could mean that you don’t have the necessary skill now for the task at hand.

Other sources of low self-esteem (feeling unworthy/inadequate):

  1. Feelings of rejection – others ignoring you or criticizing; blaming or passing judgments.
  2. Failed relationships
  3. Disapprovals from authorities; denial of promotion or increment, job loss.
  4. Guilt
  5. Comparisons with others
  6. Feeling of a victim or helplessness
  7. Failed attempts, not meeting targets/goals.

How to feel worthy instantly

  1. Question the perception about yourself. Remind yourself that you don’t have to be perfect (nobody is!). Drop any negative emotions such as hurt, guilt, frustration, anger, if that is the cause. Know that you are valuable – you have some dear ones who love you and appreciate you. In any case, you are loved so much by your creator. He created you with a purpose.
  2. Count your blessings. Recall your accomplishments. Recall appreciation by others.
  3. Visualize a new self-image of what you want to be – confident, energetic, and magnificent. Do at least one action now that will make you feel worthy  (refer list below).

Meditate on the words of God:

You are precious and honored in my sight, and I love you. (Isaiah 43:4)

Tips to Raise Your Self-Esteem

  1. If the inadequacy feeling is coming from lack of skills, do whatever required to acquire/sharpen your skills.
  2. Let go of your mistakes and move on. Learn the lessons and then leave the negative things behind.
  3. Stop comparing yourself to other people. Be yourself and let others be themselves.
  4. Replace your negative inner voice with positive ones – use positive affirmations.
  5. Be prepared to accept responsibility that is truly yours, but never let others lay blame on you and make you feel bad just to make themselves feel better. Avoid these people.
  6. Do something that will raise your self-esteem – take a trip to a salon, dress nicely, smile, do a favour to somebody, try something new (hobby), do something remarkable.
  7. Try to develop a positive attitude – read inspiring books, use self-affirmations, meditate on Words of God.
  8. Don’t take things too seriously. Identify and enjoy the company of others on the understanding that they all are here to help you and are taking their own journeys to better themselves as well.
  9. Focus on now. Most self-confidence problems stem from worry about the future or regret about the past. Immerse yourself on the task at hand so your mind is happily engaged.
  10. Take time out to understand what you are really good at. Identify and nurture any talents that you are naturally gifted at. Commit to continuous self-improvement.
  11. Acknowledge your weaknesses. Acknowledging your weaknesses is actually a sign of strength and confidence. No-one else is perfect so why should you be?
  12. Start journaling; write down the thoughts that are coming to you. Write your strengths, weakness, accomplishments, failures, good experiences you had, dreams, goals and so on. This helps you in self-awareness and self-acceptance.
  13. Identify your dreams and goals and work towards achieving them. Create a new self-image, document it; do actions consistent with the new self-image.
  14. Remember, you are extraordinary according to God. God accepts you as you are. God loves you unconditionally – always – because you are a beloved child of God. You are divinity created from God, living with God, and going to become one with God. Connect to God and experience and express your magnificence, energy, abundance, joy and love.
