Feeling anxious, worried or fearful? Remove fear instantly
Fear can be a useful emotion when it helps you to protect yourself and prepare better for your goal achievement. However, many fears that you and I face today are irrelevant and can block our progress. Like anxiety, fear comes from our imagined future. Note that fear is just a thought and it is not real; it is a reaction from you about the unknown.
How to release fear instantly
- Write down your fears. Accept and feel the fear without any resistance. Run thru them like a scenario in your mind and release the emotions around them.
- Determine what may happen under normal circumstances based on your past experience; determine the worst case scenario too (what is the worst thing that could possibly happen?).
- Resolve to accept the worst, should it occur. Know that God will protect you and give enough strength to face even the worst situation. Feel calm and peaceful. Feel gratitude for all the blessings you got. Recall instances of your accomplishments, despite the initial fear.
- Feel confident and powerful; run thru the scenario once again, visualizing a positive outcome.
- Plan and prepare well to meet the situation, if required.
Trust God instead of listening to your fear
- Tell Jesus about your fears. Surrender your fears and worries at the feet of Jesus. Visualize Jesus taking away all of them. Visualize him holding your hand and pulling you out from any potentially harmful situation and guiding you.
- Feel his love and protection throughout your activity/journey.
- Take the next step in faith, towards your goal, visualizing a positive outcome.
More tips:
- Some fears are rooted in childhood experiences and alter it if it is not serving the purpose. How?
- Cure for fear is taking action. Feel the fear and do it anyway. Once you take action, almost always you discover that the thing you feared is not so frightening.
- Practice more, to get rid of some fears such as fear of public speaking.
- Fear of Failure: Treat every failure as a feedback and an opportunity to learn lessons from it. Remember Edison’s 10000 ‘failures’ before finding a suitable material for electric bulb.
- Fear of Rejection is usually related to low self-esteem, so do things that raise your self-esteem.
- Have a documented life purpose, life goals, plan of action and track it periodically – the clarity it gives can take away a lot of worries.
- Results are important, but don’t get attached too much to it; be flexible, learn from your experiments/mistakes and enjoy the journey.
- You know, God is all powerful and he is with you – loving you and protecting you. Why fear when you trust him. So trust in God drives out all your fears and gives you feeling of certainty.
