1 Minute Meditation on Word of God

Pick a card from the set of scripture cards and meditate on it for a minute, for results that last. When you meditate a verse daily, that verse (promise of God) becomes a reality in your life. By saturating your mind with inspiring Words of God, you are going to have an amazing life.

One minute meditation – steps

1. Take a deep breath. Be still. Prepare your mind to receive God’s words. Imagine you are sitting in a cool, calm place (ex. in a chapel in front of Holy Eucharist). Remember, God our heavenly Father, loves you unconditionally. God wants to connect with you, help you and bless you. For God’s blessings to flow, you need to connect with Him and trust His promises. God speaks to you through the Word of God.

Choose the verse you want to meditate (choose a theme, situation, or an area of life where you need God’s blessing; you may pick a card from the scripture box).

2. Read the verse a few times until you get some insights or inspirations. Feel the associated emotion in your body. For a promise of God, feel it as if it already happened. Recite the verse aloud with action and amplify the power you feel in your body and mind.

3. Ask the following questions. (One insight from the Word of God can change the direction of your life; so be curious.)

  • What does this verse tell me? What is the promise of God here? (ex. God’s love, protection, abundance, bright future, a blessing, …)
  • Is there an instance in my life, where this verse worked for me?
  • How is it relevant for me now?
  • In what situations or areas of life, I want this verse to become true for me?

If the verse is touching your heart, write it down in a journal or diary; try to memorize it. If the verse is a ‘promise of God’, claim it as you own; believe, it is going to happen in your life. If the verse is a ‘life tip’, see how you can apply it in your life in various situations. Pray for the blessings embedded in the verse.

Read the practical tip at the bottom of the card. Take action and accept the blessing.

Meditate daily for an amazing life

Daily Journal

It is good to maintain a journal of verses you read.

Take a few minutes each day to read the verse several times, slowly. Emphasize a different word or phrase each time you read the passage. Underline key words or phrases that are especially meaningful to you. Follow the prompts below and write down your responses in the journal. Finish with a prayer.

Questions to ask as you read the verse

1. What did you hear? What did God say to you as you read today’s Bible passage? What word or phrase was most meaningful to you?

2. What do you think? What does this passage mean to you? How does it apply to your life?

3. What is your prayer? This is where you turn your thoughts into prayer. It could be a prayer of gratitude or praise. It could be a prayer of confession or a request for God’s help. It’s up to you. But take a minute to write a prayer of response to God.
